still pretty mellow
Jill and Skylar welcomed the newest addition to their family early on a perfect star filled Humboldt morning where the frogs were ribbiting and most were asleep. I received a message from Skylar saying "still pretty mellow but wanted to give you a heads up" and then moments later the Midwife called to tell me that Jill was in active labor and almost fully dilated. I think all of us were amazed at how well Jill had handled and been sleeping through her labor to this point when she started pushing. She birthed her perfect child into her own arms and shouted "he has balls!" with laughter that was contagious to us all. I really loved the yummy details of this birth with the vernix floating in the water, little baby lips perfectly pushed around the breast on his first latch and all the loving hands around baby.
